I heard the song "Your Song" by Elton John on this trip, and I find his use of second person voice powerful. That song also always just stirs a strange mix of bittersweet emotion mixed with gratitude. Why? Only God knows, as The Beach Boys would say. Music is mysterious like that. I decided to write a haiku along the same lines of general, undefined love and gratitude -- that mysterious plane where the spirit lives and fellowships with the Spirit of Christ and remains in the presence of the cloud of witnesses and those who are a part of Him.
Though I tread desert,
The thought that you live and breathe,
Blooms desert flowers.
Above is a picture I took today near Moab National Park in Utah.
